MISSION STATEMENT
American Kishu Registry and Breed Club was established in 1993 and began registering Kishu Kens with The American Kennel Club Foundation Stock Service (FSS). The purpose was to create a registry for the Kishu Ken breed in America, independent of the registries in Japan where language is often a barrier, while adhering to the original standards and purposes for the breed.
American Kishu Registry promotes excellence in the breeding of purebred Kishu Kens. The goal ultimately has been to introduce the breed in America and seek formal recognition by the American Kennel Club (AKC).
We promote the protection and advancement of the best attributes of the Kishu Ken and improvement of the health, temperament and soundness of the breed.
We strive to introduce the Kishu Ken in America by providing education to the General Public and to the American dog fanciers in particular through cooperation with AKC. We hope to provide a breed club environment for Kishu Ken owners to share ideas.
We seek to encourage the showing of the Kishu Ken and to share our admiration for this incredible breed of dog. We also support rescue efforts for the Kishu Ken everywhere.
